The Japan-America Society of Washington DC presents CineMatsuri™, the first Japanese film festival in the Nation's Capital.
CineMatsuri showcases five of Japan's most recent and best films, each in a different genre, reflecting the richness and diversity of today's Japanese cinema. All films will be shown in Japanese, with English sub-titles.
CineMatsuri opens with a matinee performance at 4 pm on Sunday, March 23, 2014 and continues with evening showings every night at 7 pm from Monday, March 24 through Thursday, March 27.
CineMatsuri is being held at the E Street Cinema in the heart of downtown DC. The Washington Post calls the E Street Cinema "the best movie house" in the Nation's Capital.
CineMatsuri is produced by the Japan-America Society of Washington DC (JASW), which has promoted understanding of Japanese culture for over half a century. CineMatsuri is an official event of the National Cherry Blossom Festival and is supported by the Embassy of Japan and the Japan Information and Culture Center.
